Ellesmere Town Hall

10 Cascade: Steve Hitchin

Stainless Steel

A response to the heritage of Rope Making at this site marked by the long terrace of Charlotte Row Cottages known as Rope Row opposite Ellesmere Town Hall. The area used to be a Blackwater area bridged by Sparbridge. The cascade of water was drained in C19th during the making of the canal. The sculpture is an abstract representation of this heritage.
